Letter to the editor: U.S. can learn from Israeli failure

We could learn from the Israeli failure to fully appreciate the Hamas threat. Israel had Hamas’ plan of attack for over a year and observed practice attacks but failed to adequately prepare for the Oct. 7 assault.

The latest issue of Time Magazine outlines in Trump’s own words his plan of attack on our democratic institutions should he win re-election. The January/February edition of The Atlantic magazine also covered these plans in depth. Conservative think tanks have concurrently formulated complementary “plans of attack.” The Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 is the most comprehensive of these plans. Just google Project 2025 to read it and commentaries about it.

Like the Israelis, we have seen the plans of attack and observed the practice assaults (Trump’s first term as President). We have been amply warned, but will we, like the Israelis, ignore the warnings and suffer from the ensuing chaos?
