Letter to the Editor: Kudos to Kurt Fankhauser

I would like to give a huge shout out to Kurt Fankhauser, owner of WaveLinc Communications in Bucyrus.

Kurt doesn’t just stop at offering a internet service to his customers, he also provides "free" internet services to the following: Bucyrus City Hall; Bucyrus Fire Department; Isaac-Beal Street Garage; Bucyrus Airport; Aumiller Park; Bucyrus Water Treatment Plant; Bucyrus Wastewater Treatment Plant; and the Millenial Park. The free service saves the city $30,000 a per year.

During the EF1 tornado that caused a lot of havoc in Bucyrus on April 17 and tore down the city police phone lines, it was Kurt Fankhauser that provided the police with a working phone system that made it possible for them to have emergency communication and city hall phone communication.

I want to publicly thank Kurt Fankhauser for his sincere dedication for the City of Bucyrus. You came to the rescue and offered your services so the city could carry on through an emergency.
