Leslie Jones, Colin Jost to Star in ‘Baby Nurse’ for Universal

Leslie Jones and Colin Jost will star in Universal’s “Baby Nurse,” the first film that Lorne Michaels will develop under his new pact with the studio, it was announced Wednesday.

“Baby Nurse” will follow a special agent assigned to the most humbling undercover role in the history of the FBI. Written by Austin Winsberg, Michaels will be produce alongside executive producer Jost.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Universal Pictures has entered into a first-look production agreement with the Emmy-winning producer and his Broadway Video. His long-time collaborator, Erin David, will oversee the film division.

Best known as the creator and executive producer of “Saturday Night Live,” Michaels is already part of the NBCUniversal branch. He is an executive producer of the Emmy-nominated “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “Late Night With Seth Meyers” on NBC, as well as IFC’s “Documentary Now!”, “Portlandia” and “30 Rock.”

His film credits include serving as a producer on “Mean Girls,” “Baby Mama,” “Wayne’s World,” “Tommy Boy” and “Three Amigos,” the latter of which he produced and co-wrote with Steve Martin and Randy Newman. He has spent almost 30 years at Paramount Pictures with his films.

Additionally, Michaels renewed his television deals — he resigned multi-year agreements for “SNL” and extended his NBC primetime deal.

CAA and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller & Gellman L.L.P represented Michaels and Broadway Video in the deal.
