Leonore Restaurant closes its doors in the Star City, moves to Salem

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — One restaurant embedded in the heart of Roanoke is bringing its cuisines to a different city in the valley.

On April 16, Leonore Restaurant announced on social media that it would be moving to Salem.

Owner Miguel Liendo has been preparing memorable Italian and Venezuelan dishes and creating authentic flavors for 13 years. He joined the restaurant business in the Star City with his two siblings who moved to the United States from Venezuela.

From pizzas to arepas the restaurant is full of flavors inspired by Miguel’s late mom, Leonore.

The restaurant sits on Campbell Avenue and has become a staple in Downtown Roanoke. However, this location will officially close on April 20.

Owners say the restaurant will move to 1776 Apperson Drive, in Salem. At the new location, Leonore will continue deliveries and carry-out.

At this time, it is not clear when the restaurant will open for dine-in services.
