Space is putting on one hell of a show. As an encore to this week's impressive supermoon sighting, tonight will also be host to the peak of a meteor shower near the constellation Leo.

According to Space.com, the shower will actually kick off closer to Thursday morning, November 17, than Wednesday evening. At 6am ET, meteors at about 10-20 per hour will begin streaking across the sky in what's called a Leonid shower. As Space.com notes, this is excellent timing for people particularly living in the central and western U.S. Unfortunately, for east coast dwellers, the light show might be tough to see in early dawn.

The only other piece of bad news is, well, that supermoon. Now a waning gibbous, the moon's obnoxious amount of light tonight might also obscure some meteoric views even if you're blessed with that pre-dawn timeframe.

Good luck.
