Hollywood let love rule and honored Lenny Kravitz on the Walk of Fame on Tuesday afternoon.

His star was placed on 1750 North Vine Street, right in front of the historic Capitol Records Tower.

Kravitz received the honor alongside his daughter, Zoë Kravitz, and actor Denzel Washington. Both served as guest speakers for the induction ceremony.

Other people in attendance were Channing Tatum, who is Zoë’s rumored fiancé, Verndine White and Evan Ross.

The “American Woman” singer received the star in the Recording category.

“We’ve been through a lot, we’ve seen a lot. I’ve seen a lot,” Zoë said in her speech. “I’ve seen you change in the most beautiful ways. I’ve seen you stay the same in the most important ways. I’ve seen the way you show up and take care of the people you love. I’ve seen your incredible dedication to your art.”

Of course, she did take the moment to poke fun at her dad.

“Mostly I’ve seen through your shirts,” she joked. “According to my dad, if it doesn’t expose your nipples it’s not a shirt. And sure, it used to embarass me when you used to pick me up from school as a kid, but I’ve got to say at this point, I respect it. You really do pull it off. Your relationship with a knitted shirt is probably your longest one and it works. You two make each other better and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

She commended her dad for absolutely devouring life.

“You eat up every crumb and lick the plate,” she explained. “Life is your art and that is why your music is inspiring and important.”

Washington then took the mic to praise “The Butler” actor as “more than a friend, more than a brother, we’re twins, we just don’t look alike.”

After the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce declared March 12 as Lenny Kravitz Day in Hollywood, “Again” singer said a few words.

He explained how he had moved to Los Angeles from New York when he was 11 years old and how the city means so much to him.

“I’m eternally grateful for everyone who took the time to be here today, but I’m especially honored to see the people that watched me evolve into an artist,” Kravitz said.

“There’s nothing that keeps me grounded more than seeing the people who have taken the journey with me all these decades.”

“For everyone here, who has nutured my dream, this star- this is our star,” he continued. “Thank you all for this and let love rule.”
