Lemont police investigate apparent murder-suicide at hotel

LEMONT, Ill. — Lemont police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at a hotel on Thursday.

Lemont Police Department officers were called around 9:30 a.m. to a distrubance in the 12200 block of Archer Avenue.

Officers arrived and found a woman who was shot multiple times and died, according to a news release from police.

As officers continued their investigation, officers found Richard Crane, 62, inside another room.

According to Lemont police, Crane died by suicide.

Lemont police said detectives are still working to determine the relationship between Crane and the woman.

Police said there is not threat to the community and the investigation is ongoing.
