Leicester City Fans in Shock After Beloved Billionaire Soccer Club Owner Reportedly Dies in Fiery Helicopter Crash

Fans of a UK soccer club are in shock this weekend after reports emerged of the death of the team's beloved owner.

According to Reuters, Thai businessman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was among five people in a helicopter that crashed and exploded in England on Saturday.

The crash reportedly occurred following a Premier League match between Srivaddhanaprabha's Leicester City club and West Ham.

The father of four, whose fortune was made in duty-free retail, became a fan favorite after the team he purchased as underdogs in 2010 beat 5,000/1 to odds to win the Premier League title in 2016.

The helicopter went down in a parking lot just yards away from King Power Stadium, where the match had just ended.

The AP reports that the Air Accident Investigation Branch was deployed to the site to investigate.

Meanwhile, fans began showing up to the stadium on Sunday with wreaths, which they laid outside in remembrance.

Also among the items left were candles, bouquets of flowers, and an image of the Hindu god Ganesh.

Srivaddhanaprabha was known for his grand entrances and departures aboard a helicopter to and from Leicester home games.
