Lehi High campus disrupted by ‘threat of violence,’ police say

LEHI, Utah (ABC4) — The Lehi High School campus was disrupted on Tuesday, April 23, after police learned of a possible “threat of violence” made toward the school, according to the Lehi City Police Department.

Around 10:15 a.m., the Lehi City Police Department confirmed it had received the reports of violence. Officers quickly arrived on campus to conduct a sweep and “verify the individual involved is not at the school.”

Lehi City spokesperson Jeanteil Livingston said there was a fight at the school on Monday, April 22 and the police department received reports of a person coming to the school with a gun. Livingston said the gun threat was in connection to Monday’s fight.

The sweep of the school was completed by 10:45 a.m. and Lehi High School was allowed to return to normal operations. During the sweep, students arriving at the school were directed to the Counseling Office until officers completed their work.

Livingston told ABC4 police the person reported to have been bringing a gun was not on campus at the time of the sweep, however, police did later find the suspect and are currently speaking with him.
