Legoland attempts to set world record

CARLSBAD, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — In honor of Legoland’s 25th birthday and ahead of the opening of its newest themed land, Legoland California Resort is inviting the public to take part in setting a world record.

On Sunday, the theme park wants to set the record for the largest gathering of dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs fly over Legoland’s new ‘Dino Valley’

More than 2,000 people are expected to join in on the dance party at the park, which takes place Sunday from 7 to 9 a.m.

Although the park says tickets for the much-anticipated event are already sold out, people are encouraged to join the waitlist or join the event on Instagram Live by tagging Legoland’s official Instagram account (@legolandcalifornia).

Legoland is currently offering a special deal on tickets to celebrate its 25th birthday.

Up until March 10, the theme park is offering up to four kid tickets at $25 each with the purchase of a single adult ticket. A regular one-day Legoland online ticket normally costs around $104.

The new themed land, Dino Valley, which is set to open this spring, will have a total of 35 different LEGO models of dinosaurs, including pterodactyls, raptors, Parasaurolophus and Brachiosaurus.
