Leesburg police arrest, charge man for possessing child pornography

LEESBURG, Va. (DC News Now) — The Leesburg Police Department (LPD) said a man was arrested and charged with two counts of possessing child pornography.

On Thursday morning, following an “extensive investigation,” multiple agencies assisted LPD in arresting Luke Mulligan, 42, and executing a search warrant in the 600 block of Rockbridge Dr., SE.

Officials got the warrant after finding sexually explicit material with juveniles on one of Mulligan’s electronic devices.

NOVA-DC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, Virginia State Police, D.C.’s Homeland Security Investigations, the Herndon Police Department, the Fairfax County Police Department and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office helped LPD in the investigation.

Mulligan was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and was held without bond. LPD expects additional charges in the case.
