May 13—The Lebanon VA Medical Center recently received a visit from the U.S. secretary of veterans affairs, who praised the facility for its top rankings in patient experience.

Secretary Denis McDonough on May 7 met with the center's leaders, including director Jeffrey Beiler II, employees and veterans, explaining that he came to see firsthand the high level work that the facility is doing, as proven by the surveys of patients it has served.

Lebanon VAMC recently achieved a VA Trust Score of 95.4%, which was the fourth highest rating in the nation among the VA's 172 medical centers.

The center also has finished with the best patient experience rating among level two VA facilities for the last three years.

Lebanon VAMC spokesman Douglas Etter said the keys to the center's success include the dedication of its staff to giving veterans the best possible care, the help of its many volunteers and consistent cooperation from the communities it serves.

The center serves veterans from nine counties, including Berks and Schuylkill.
