At least 2 Family Dollar locations are closing in Peoria. Here's what we know

At least two Family Dollar stores in Peoria are closing after the company announced plans to shutter "underperforming" locations throughout the country.

The Family Dollar location at 820 NE Jefferson St. in Peoria is preparing to close, as well.

In a March 13 news release, Dollar Tree, Inc. announced plans to shutter "approximately 600 Family Dollar stores in the first half of fiscal 2024."

Along with this, the company plans to close more Family Dollar and Dollar Tree storefronts as their leases end in the coming years. In total, around 1,000 stores will be affected.

  • 330 N. Western Ave., Peoria

  • 600 S. Western Ave., Peoria
