At least 12 injured and fires city-wide after UA intercepts 30+ Russian ballistic missiles over Kyiv

At least 12 people have been injured after Russia launched its latest mass ballisitc missile attack on Kyiv, which damaged a kindergarten and residential buildings and caused fires across the city, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMDA) reported on Telegram.

NV English is monitoring the aftermath of the attack and new war crimes committed by Russia.

Around 30 missiles were intercepted over Kyiv, with Russia deploying ballistic missiles and Kinzhal cruise missiles,  reported KMDA head, Serhiy Popko, on Telegram.

"After a 44-day pause, the enemy launched another missile strike on Kyiv,” wrote Popko.

“The enemy employed X-101/X-555/X-55 (Kinzhal) cruise missiles from the decks of Tu-95MS strategic bombers and ballistic missiles from Russian territory. The air raid in the capital lasted almost three hours. After complex maneuvers in adjacent regions, the missiles approached the capital simultaneously from different directions."

"The number of injured has risen to ten, with two hospitalized,” said Klitschko. “Others received medical assistance on site.”

That number has since risen to 12, reported Popko.

The Air Force confirmed the launch of Kh-47M2 Kinzhal ballistic missiles at the capital, with the following consequences from the missile debris:

  • Podil district: a fire on the roof of a residential building, a blaze at a transformer substation and a non-residential building, and possible debris falling on the territory of an enterprise

  • Shevchenkivskyi district: an apartment building was evacuated after a fire started, vehicles in a parking lot were ablaze

  • Sviatoshynskyi district: shock waves from the blasts shattered windows in two nine-story buildings, and debris damaged a kindergarten

The General Staff reported that at least eight cruise and three ballistic missiles were intercepted.

"Overnight, Russian invaders carried out a massive missile strike on Ukraine,” stated the morning briefing of the Ukrainian Army’s General Staff.

“Preliminary data indicate that 8 cruise and 3 ballistic missiles were used. Ukrainian air defense forces and means destroyed all the missiles."
