LeapFrog CFO leaves to spend more time with family

EMERYVILLE, Calif. (AP) — Educational toy maker LeapFrog Enterprises Inc. said Thursday that Chief Financial Officer Mark Etnyre is leaving the company to spend more time with his family and pursue personal interests.

"In recent months, personal considerations have shifted my priorities closer to home and my immediate family," Etnyre said in a statement.

Etnyre has worked at LeapFrog since 2007 and became CFO in March 2010. His resignation is effective Oct. 1.

Shares of LeapFrog rose 94 cents, or 9 percent, to close the regular session at $11.38. Shares lost 51 cents, or 4.5 percent, to $10.75 in aftermarket trading.

In early May, LeapFrog reported better-than-expected results for the first quarter and raised its annual forecasts. The company said it sold more items at full price because retail inventories were leaner. The earlier Easter holiday and strong sales of its LeapPad tablet-style device also helped its results.
