Feb. 29 was special enough as it was already in the Barkow home, but now Lisa gets to share a very rare birthday after welcoming her son Cole on Leap Day this year.

Aurora Medical Center - Oshkosh made the very special announcement when Lisa and Andrew Barkow welcomed Cole at around 8 a.m. Feb. 29.

Cole weighed 8 pounds at birth and stood 21 inches in height.

It’s estimated that only 0.07% of the world’s population, or about 5 million people, are born on Feb. 29, considering the day only happens once every four years.

The chances of being born on a Leap Day are about one in 1,461, which is less likely than getting heads 10 times in a row on a coin flip.

Yet, Lisa, who was born Feb. 29, 1984, isn’t the only Leap Day mom who gave birth to a “Leapling” this year.

Duke University Hospital revealed that Dr. Kai Sun also gave birth to baby girl Chloe Paik on her Leap Day birthday in North Carolina.
