New leaders named for school district posts

Apr. 30—Several staff members will take on new leadership roles with the St. Joseph School District this summer.

Promotions announced Tuesday by the Board of Education take effect July 1.

— Dr. Alexander Tomes will serve as principal at Robidoux Middle School. He started with the district as a biology teacher at Central High School in 2018 then moved to Benton High School where he was an assistant principal.

— Alan Hutchcraft will become assistant principal at Benton High School. He previously served as high school principal in Maysville and Pattonsburg.

— Jason Lenz replaces Tomes as assistant principal at Benton High School. He worked at Benton High School as a social studies teacher and department chair and has been an instructional coach for the past three years.

— Dr. Rebecca Shilling will become assistant principal at Carden Park Elementary. Shilling previously served with the district at Robidoux Middle School as the assistant principal and at Spring Garden Middle School as principal.

— Brooke Kissel will move from her role as an administrative elementary intern at Parkway and Skaith to assistant principal at both schools in 24-25. She has taught in the district for 14 years.

— Michelle Schulze becomes the English Language Development Coordinator for the 24-25 school year.
