LCE: 7 businesses cited for liquor violations

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Seven establishments in northeast and central PA have been charged after liquor control operations were performed in several counties.

The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement (LCE) released details on Friday, April 5 regarding the recently performed compliance checks.

Counties included in this enforcement report are Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, and Susquehanna.

According to PSP, the following businesses were cited by LCE in March 2024:

Lackawanna County:

  • Phenix2 Corp in Scranton was cited for not maintaining sufficient food items, utensils, dishes, and seating.

Luzerne County:

  • Shree CFM Ganesh, Inc., of Inkerman, was cited for selling malt or brewed beverages over 192 fluid ounces in a single sale to one person for consumption off-premises.

  • PSM 2022 LLC, of Wilkes-Barre, was cited for failing to have their board-approved manager complete RAMP training within 180 days of the board’s approval.

  • Castros Subs N Suds, LLC, of Hazleton, was cited for failing to adhere to conditions agreed upon with the board regarding restrictions upon the subject license.

Area businesses cited for liquor law violations

Monroe County:

  • ARV Beverages of Blakeslee was cited for not having sufficient seating in the restaurant.

Susquehanna County:

  • Willy’s Friendsville Inn, of Friendsville, was cited for selling, providing, or giving alcohol for consumption off the premises.

  • Strider-Teskey Post 86 Home Association Inc. was cited for failing to have their board-approved manager complete RAMP training within 180 days of the board’s approval.

According to PSP, all charges will be brought before a judge and offenders can face penalties ranging from $50-$1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.
