Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will kick off season 19 with a rather large international incident — and EW has an exclusive sneak peek at a script page from the hour.

Aptly titled “Gone Fishin’,” the premiere finds Fin (Ice-T) crossing international borders to catch a fugitive rapist, kicking off a political tug-of-war that could derail Barba’s (Raúl Esparza) legal case. Nashville‘s Will Chase will play the accused rapist, Byron Marks, who fled to Cuba six years prior but is caught by Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay) No. 2 in the season premiere.

“Fin sets the season going,” new showrunner Michael Chernuchin tells EW. “We see something about Fin where he’s willing to break the law, or at least thinking he’s breaking the law to do the right thing. Basically, Fin tells everybody he’s going on vacation, but what he’s really doing is he goes to Havana to track down a fugitive and he catches him in Havana. That basically sets off a whole international incident. We start big, and that’s what we wanted to do. It’s a big episode, the first one.”

Law & Order: SVU‘s premiere, which also features the return of Peter Jacobson, as well as guest star Amy Smart as one of Byron’s alleged victims, will air Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
