Law enforcement seeks help locating missing Bemidji man

May 23—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji Police Department is seeking help from the public to locate a missing 61-year-old man who hasn't been seen by his family in more than two weeks.

According to a release from the department, Michael Dave Stuart was last seen at around 4 a.m. on May 8, at the 900 block of Sixth Street Southeast in Bemidji.

Stuart left the area on foot "without providing a destination," the release said. He was last seen wearing jeans, a green camouflage jacket and a ball cap. He is described as having an inch-long beard and longer hair around his ears.

Stuart's family hasn't been in contact with him and they are concerned for his welfare, the release said. He is described in the release as a "vulnerable adult" and he has been diagnosed with several significant mental health disabilities.

Stuart has lived in Nebraska, Wisconsin and California in the past and may be trying to return to those areas, the release said.
