Law enforcement responds to false bomb report on Bemidji Area Schools bus

May 24—BEMIDJI — Law enforcement responded to a report of a bomb on a Bemidji Area Schools bus Friday morning, which was confirmed to be false.

According to a release, a student made a statement that there was a bomb on the bus, after which the bus driver notified law enforcement and appropriate supervisory staff.

All students were evacuated from the bus and another bus was dispatched to pick up the students and transport them to school. Students from Gene Dillon Elementary, Bemidji Middle School and Aurora Waasakone Community of Learners were on the bus at the time of the incident.

Law enforcement confirmed that the report was false and there was no danger to students or staff.
