Lauren Graham’s nostalgic tweet to birthday girl Alexis Bledel is making our hearts explode

Though she’ll always be sweet and precious ‘lil Rory Gilmore to us, the lady behind her is celebrating a big birthday today. Alexis Bledel is 35 years young, but honestly, she doesn’t look a day past Chilton graduation.

While we can send her thousands of well wishes for today (and actually, every day), there’s no way we’ll ever be able to outdo Lauren Graham’s birthday tweet to her favorite on-screen daughter. Graham just shared the cutest picture of the two of them from way-back-when, and we can barely contain our excitement.

While there’s no specific date on the picture, we can assume it’s sometime from the year 2000-2007, aka, the original run of Gilmore Girls. And yeah, they look pretty sassy, and also fabulous. Just wait until this sassy-ness and faulous-ness (yes, we just made those words up, but Lorelai would be okay with it) hits our TV screens again when Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life lands on Netflix. Just think of how many more perfect photos they’ll be able to share from here until the end of eternity!!

So a million happy birthdays to you Alexis! May the day be spent drinking lots of coffee, eating pizza, a few slices of cake, and then having 2-3 more cups of coffee at Luke’s to wash it all down.
