Laura Storm, founder of Foster Together is named FOX 2/KPLR 11 Remarkable Woman

Over the month of March, FOX 2 and News 11 celebrated Women’s History Month by highlighting four stories of local Remarkable Women in the Greater St. Louis area who were selected out of nearly 200 nominations in the community.

Each of our recipients had their story told, with one local finalist being awarded today with $1,000 to the charity of her choice and a trip to Hollywood for national recognition with our parent company, Nexstar Media Inc.  The winner receives a VIP trip to Los Angeles to meet Remarkable Women from across the country and the potential to receive a $10,000 donation to the charity of her choice.

The winner is Laura Storm who is the founder of Foster Together. Learning that foster children only have the clothes on they are wearing when they enter the system, Laura opened up her heart and her home to help with their daily needs.  She started with her immediate community, collecting donations from clothing to car seats to shoes, formula, diapers and other essentials to deliver to families out of her basement.  In 2021, with her basement overflowing, she took another leap of faith and opened the Foster Together store in Arnold, “We moved into the space it needed a ton of work. It needed all new flooring. It needed all new paint and the community donated everything you know and all the labor everything.  It still gives me goosebumps to think about that time because there was so much energy, and we all knew this was going to be something.”

All four of our finalists are mission focused to support individuals all over St. Louis.
