Laura Beeman selected as Big West Coach of the Year, headlining a number of selections for Rainbow Wahine & Rainbow Warriors on all-conference teams

The Big West announced its All-Conference honors on Tuesday. For the University of Hawaii women’s basketball team, three members of the team were honored, while head coach Laura Beeman was named the Coach of the Year. Additionally, Daejah Phillips was named the Sixth Player of the Year, averaging 12.2 points and 5.4 rebounds during conference games. She was also named to the All-Big West First Team. Point guard Lily Wahinekapu and forward Imani Perez were both selected to the Big West second team, while Perez was also named to the Big West All-Defensive team with 1.2 blocks per game. As for the University of Hawaii men’s basketball team, forward Justin McKoy was placed on the Big West second team after averaging a team-high 13.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game during conference games.
