Latvia sends equipment to help Ukraine repair energy grid heavily damaged in Russian attacks
Latvenergo delivered equipment to Ukraine to help restore its energy system which has been heavily damaged in recent Russian attacks, Latvia's Delfi reported on April 28.
Ukraine received a 250 MVA transformer, previously used at the Riga Hydroelectric Power Station, a compressed air compressor, and 60 tons of transformer oil.

The Latvian State Fire and Rescue Service assisted in transporting the oversized cargo to Ukraine, with transportation costs covered by the European Union.
"With the delivery of the high-voltage transformer, oil, and compressor, residents of Ukraine will receive assistance on a household level, as well as for water and heating supply to hospitals, schools, and other facilities," said Latvenergo administrative director, Arnīs Kurgs.
"Let us stand united until Ukraine prevails!"

Latvia's aid to Ukraine
A coalition initiated by Latvia had raised around 500 million euros for drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Latvian Defense Minister Andris Sprūds reported on April 24,
Latvia is prepared to provide Ukraine with a short-range air defense system, Sprūds said on April 22.

Latvia is gearing up to send the first batch of drones to Ukraine as part of the drone coalition, Latvian Prime Minister Līvija Siliņa said on April 16.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Latvian President Egils Levits signed a bilateral security agreement on April 11.
