Drama unfolded at the Toronto Zoo when a woman jumped into the Sumatran tiger enclosure to retrieve a lost hat. Said hat does not appear to be made of solid gold in a video of the incident, which begs the question: Why do that terribly stupid thing?

To be fair, the woman jumped into the space between the exterior fence and the interior fence, meaning there was a thin layer of braided wire separating her from death-by-250-pound-big-cat. Zoo officials told the Toronto Sun that the biggest risk she faced was a broken ankle from the jump down.

The relative safety of a wire fence didn't stop the crowd of astonished onlookers from telling this woman — who appeared to be at the zoo with children — what a moron she was.
