•
For an alternative Easter egg hunt that you can do any time, try geocaching. Mynydd Illtud Common, in the Brecon Beacons, is home to eight hidden geocaches – treasure boxes ranging in size from small canisters to large containers. After seeking them all out, explore the rest of the mountainous National Park or head to The Angel, which will be hosting Easter lunches, dinners and high teas. [Photo: Nigel Forster]

    •
Couples can take over a gorgeous converted barn in the heart of the Suffolk countryside this Easter. Low Farm features a light and spacious living area with exposed beams, great views and a cosy wood burning stove. Surrounded by nature, with a pub and shop just two miles away, it’s also ideally located within easy reach of Bury St Edmunds and the coastal towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh. Save over £100 on seven nights’ self-catering, which now costs from £38 per person per night, based on two sharing. [Photo: cottages.com]

    •
Whisk your family away to Saunton Sands, a wonderful stretch of coastline in North Devon. The waves are great for surfing, and there are plenty of excellent trails nearby for dog walks. Newly-opened Chalet Saunton has direct beach access and offers a range of family-friendly activities, including surf lessons, horseback riding, cycling and fishing. There is currently an Easter offer of seven nights for the price of five in a three-bedroom apartment, which costs from £60 per person per night, based on a family of six sharing, until April 16. [Photo: Chalet Saunton]

    •
If you like water, you’ll love staying in the Cotswold Water Park region, which covers an area of 40 square miles south of Cirencester and north of Swindon. Comprised of 150 different lakes and lovely old villages, the area is a haven for activities including sailing, fishing, birdwatching and cycling. There’s still good Easter availability with discounts on some holiday homes. Save £90 on four nights’ self-catering at Windrush Cottage 62, which costs from £34 per person per night, based on six sharing. [Photo: Waterside Breaks]

    •
Extensive research has gone into the restoration of Bagdale Cottage, a historic property in Whitby with lovely original features, a wood burning stove and two spacious double bedrooms. Kids will love being kept entertained at the nearby Whitby’s Captain Cook Museum, while the former smuggling haven of Robin Hood’s Bay is also within easy reach. Seven nights’ self-catering from £30 per person per night, based on four sharing. [Photo: originalcottaes.co.uk]
