UPDATE: 911 services restored in Las Vegas valley following outage

UPDATE: 911 phone services were restored around 9:08 p.m. following a two hour outage across the Las Vegas valley, according to Metro police.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 911 outage impacted the Las Vegas valley’s ability to contact emergency services for two hours on Wednesday, according to Las Vegas Metro police.

The outage began just before 7 p.m. Metro police said that if people needed contact police or emergency services to dial 911 on a mobile device and they will be able to see their number and will call back right away.

LVMPD also said that 911 calls from landlines were not working.

Henderson police said text to 911 was still functional and rapid SOS was working during the outage.

Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Dispatch provided emergency phone numbers 775-687-0400 and 702-432-5393 for callers if they were in need of assistance.

911 phone services were restored around 9:08 p.m. following a two hour outage across the valley, Las Vegas police said.

LVMPD asked people to not attempt to call 911 to check and to keep the 911 system available for life-threatening emergencies.

Non-emergency calls to 702-828-3111 were also impacted by this outage, police said.

The Nye County Sherriff’s Office said it’s system was still receiving 911 calls, but not calls through the non-emergency phone number.
