Las Vegas police arrest suspect after man found shot to death in vehicle

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas police arrested a man they said is a suspect in a homicide in which the victim was found shot to death in a crashed vehicle.

According to police, on Saturday, March 2, at around 12:40 a.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 4400 block of East Lone Mountain Road near East Craig Road.

Police said there was a report of a vehicle that crashed into a building.

Arriving officers found a man in the vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Through the investigation, police learned the victim was followed by an unknown vehicle before the shooting.

Police later identified Tony Archuletta, 42, as a suspect in the case. Officers took him into custody on Thursday, March 7.

Archuletta faces a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon. He is being held at the Clark County Detention Center without bail.

His next court appearance is scheduled for March 9.
