LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas man who attempted to solicit sex from minors during the weekend of the Super Bowl will serve up to four years in prison, Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford announced Tuesday.

Last week, a judge sentenced Nicholas Hardin, 36, to 19 to 48 months in the Nevada Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty to soliciting a child for prostitution.

Police arrested Hardin as part of an undercover operation during the weekend of Super Bowl LVIII aimed at arresting criminals who sought to solicit sex from minors.

According to the attorney general’s office, Hardin solicited an undercover officer who was posing as a child to engage in sex for free.

At the time of his arrest, Hardin was on sex offender probation for a previous conviction for possession of visual presentation depicting sexual conduct of a child.

As part of his plea agreement, Hardin agreed to the cancellation of his probation in the other case, which implemented a suspended sentence of 28 to 72 months in prison. He will serve both sentences at the same time.

“Our office works diligently with our law enforcement partners and is always on alert for cases of
human and sex trafficking, with heightened efforts during Super Bowl LVIII,” AG Ford said. “To
adults soliciting sex from minors, our message is clear: You will be brought to justice. I applaud
the work of my investigators and attorneys in the Criminal Prosecution Division for their vigilance in prosecuting this crime.”

A photo of Hardin was not immediately available.
