LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Officials in Las Vegas say McCarran International Airport handled slightly fewer passengers in April than a year earlier.
Data released Friday shows slightly more than 3.5 million people flew in and out of the airport last month. That's about 5,000 or 0.2 percent fewer people than flew in April 2012.
Total airport traffic dropped in the first three months of 2013, and rose slightly in March. Traffic is down 1.1 percent for the year.
Domestic traffic dropped by 0.7 percent in April, while the number of passengers flying internationally increased by 3.8 percent. Domestic carriers make up about 90 percent of traffic.
Of the top five airlines serving the airport, United Airlines saw the steepest drop off.
McCarran is the seventh-busiest airport in the country.
