Las Cruces Police next Zoom meeting to discuss safety on roads, trails

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The next Las Cruces Police Department’s “Bridging the Badge” Zoom meeting coincides with Distracted Driving Awareness Month and will focus on the safety of vulnerable users of area roads and trails, according to LCPD.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11. Participants can join the Zoom meeting here.

The meeting will also be livestreamed on the LCPD’s Facebook page. Viewers can ask questions via Zoom or through the Facebook live.

LCPD says hosts of the meeting, commissioned LCPD officers, will be joined by Barbara Toth, chairwoman of the New Mexico Vulnerable Road Users group; and Eloisa Torres, board member of the Southern New Mexico Trail Alliance.

Both organizations advocate for persons of all background to have access to the outdoors in a safe and responsible manner, according to LCPD.

LCPD’s Zoom meetings, which are held monthly, are intended to promote understanding, collaboration, and informed dialogue on important topics with Las Cruces residents.

Each meeting is anticipated to last about one hour. An open and respectful dialogue is encouraged during each meeting, according to LCPD.
