Larry Kudlow suffers heart attack, tweets Donald Trump ahead of Singapore summit with Kim Jong-un
Larry Kudlow, The chief White House economic adviser, suffered a heart attack and is being treated at a Washington area hospital, according to a tweet sent from President Donald Trump's Twitter account.
"Our Great Larry Kudlow, who has been working so hard on trade and the economy, has just suffered a heart attack. He is now in Walter Reed Medical Center," said the message sent minutes before he was scheduled to meet Kim Jong-un, the North Korean leader, in Singapore.
Mr Kudlow made headlines after the G7 summit when he appeared on Sunday morning talks shows to deliver a blistering attack on Justin Trudeau, the Canadian prime minister.
He accused Mr Trudeau for the collapse of a joint communiqué after saying he was going ahead with retaliatory tariffs on the US.
He also said Mr Trump's decision to abandon the agreed text was designed as a show of strength ahead of the Singapore summit.

He insisted American president would not be pushed around by Canada just before meeting a “crazy nuclear tyrant”.
“Kim must not see American weakness,” he told CNN’s State of the Union.
Mr Kudlow, 70, was appointed by the president in March to take over from Gary Cohn as director of the National Economic Council.

Republican who served as an economic adviser to former President Ronald Reagan in the 1980s and also worked on Wall Street, is an ardent advocate of "supply side" economic policies that focus on cutting taxes and reducing regulations.
Like other Trump appointments, he had been working as a TV commentator before joining the White House.
The White House said Mr Kudlow was being treated at the Walter Reed National Medical Centre.
"Earlier today... Kudlow experienced what his doctors say was a very mild heart attack," it said in a statement. "Larry is currently in good condition at Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre and his doctors expect he will make a full and speedy recovery... "
