Large shop fire lights up the Amity skyline Thursday night

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Orange lit up the evening sky near Amity when a large commercial shop went up in flames authorities said.

According to Amity Fire District, the first reports came in around 8:30 p.m. and the fire was upgraded to second alarm before crews even arrived due to the size of the column of smoke that could be seen.

Crews from numerous nearby districts responded and helped to attack the fire and to prevent spreading.

Officials said everyone inside made it out safely and no firefighters were injured.
