Large amount of fentanyl seized from Morganton home: Sheriff

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Three people are under arrest after a large amount of fentanyl was seized from a home in Morganton, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

Deputies stated that information was obtained last Friday regarding drug trafficking at a home on Walker Road in Morganton. A warrant was then executed and three local residents were arrested. 32-year-old Echo Camp faces charges including trafficking and possession of a gun as a felon. 34-year-old Cody Ramseur and 41-year-old Gary Hurt both face drug-related charges.

“It should be noted that the estimated lethal dose of Fentanyl is about 2 milligrams(mg) +/-, depending on tolerance and purity levels of the substance,” the sheriff’s office said. “Camp was in possession of more than 33,000 mg, which has the potential to kill 16,500 +/- people.”

Fentanyl, meth, and were all seized from the home during the warrant search.

All three suspects were held without bond.
