Lanier intersection going four-way
Apr. 24—RAY CITY — Changes are coming to traffic in Lanier County as an intersection is converted to a four-way stop.
The Georgia Department of Transportation is changing the crossing of SR 64 and Teeterville Road to a four-way stop because of the intersection's crash history and local government concerns, a GDOT statement said.
Between Jan. 31, 2019, and Jan. 31, 2024, there have been 11 crashes with four injuries and one fatality there, the statement said.
The intersection now has stop signs and SR 64 traffic does not stop. The change to a four-way stop begins April 29.
New warnings signs along SR 64, along with flashing beacons and rumble strips, will alert drivers that they must stop, GDOT said.
