Lane closure planned on Highway 70 starting Monday

Apr. 19—Caltrans announced that State Route 70 heading southbound will have a temporary lane closure from Nicolaus Avenue to the junction with State Route 99 starting on Monday.

The closure, officials said, will allow for scheduled maintenance that involves "crack sealing" on the number two lane. The maintenance and closure is expected to take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Monday and ending on Friday. However, there will be no maintenance or lane closure on Thursday.

"Motorists should anticipate delays of up to 20 minutes," officials said. "Caltrans urges drivers to exercise caution, adhere to posted signs, and follow instructions from road crews. Please plan your daily commute into the Sacramento area accordingly."
