Lancaster Stormers sign former Cocalico outfielder

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – The Lancaster Stormers announced the signing of outfielder Nick Lucky, a former Cocalico player, and right-handed pitcher Noah Bremer on Monday.

With these signings, and the announcement that catcher/outfielder Chris Proctor will play in Venezuela this Summer, the Stormers now have 14 players inked for the 2024 campaign.

Lucky played for five seasons with Coastal Carolina University, batting a composite .288 with 30 home runs. The 24-year-old had his best season last year when he posted a .307 batting average with 19 doubles and 13 home runs.

The Ephrata, Pennsylvania native played for the United Shore Baseball League in Michigan last year for five games, where he batted a .286. In the Pioneer League with Glacier Ridge Lucky hit at a .229 clip with four home runs and 17 RBI across 27 games.

“(Lucky) can play multiple positions and may even play some infield for us,” said Stormers general manager Ross Peeples. “We’re going to give him an opportunity to show us what he can do.”

Bremer was drafted in the sixth round of the MLB Draft in 2017 and played seven years with the Texas Rangers organization. The former University of Washington player has gone 17-15 with a 4.21 ERA across his five active seasons. Bremer walked 103 batters in 301.2 innings. The 27-year-old played at Class AA Frisco in 2021 and 2023, sitting out in 2022.

“Noah has a strong arm and likes to compete,” Peeples said. “He comes highly
recommended from the Cressy training facility. We’re excited to see what he can bring
to the table.”

The Stormers begin their search for their third consecutive title on April 25 in Long Island. The home opener is slated for April 30 against the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars.
