Lancaster County women convicted of burglary, assaulting teen

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Two Lancaster County women were convicted of breaking into a home and assaulting a teenager. One of those women is now wanted after not appearing in court.

The Lancaster County District Attorney’s office says Jajaira Ramirez, 38, and Najee Ramirez, 26, were found guilty by a jury of burglary, corruption of minors, and simple assault following a three-day trial.

A juvenile defendant had previously had their case resolved in juvenile court after an August 2022 assault in Lancaster Township. A fourth codefendant, Aisha Kemmerer, has a pending case.

The District Attorney’s office says a disagreement between the victim and juvenile suspect had led to Najee Ramirez and Jajaira Ramirez encouraging the teens to settle their problems by physically fighting.

On August 11, 2022, officials say both women were outside the victim’s home and broke through a locked door after the victim argued with them from a second-story window.

Inside the home, the women ran up the stairs and assaulted the teenager. Threatening Facebook messages were also presented to the jury during the trial.

The District Attorney’s office says Najee Ramirez failed to appear for trial and a subsequent bail hearing on May 13, and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.

Sentencing will be set for a later date.
