Lancaster County man convicted of raping child

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lancaster County man was convicted this week of raping a child for several years, saying he wanted to “teach her how to use her body correctly.”

The Lancaster County District Attorney’s office says Timothy Barker of Leola was convicted of multiple charges including rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child.

The victim reported being abused between the ages of 9 and 13 before disclosing the abuse years later.

Baker will be sentenced at a later date and was remanded to the Lancaster County Prison on $1 million bail.
