Lamborghini revealed a new concept over the weekend in Monaco during the World Finals of the 2019 FIA Certified Gran Turismo Championships, dubbed the V12 Vision Gran Turismo. It's a wild single-seater that, in virtual form, packs the V-12 powertrain sourced from the company's ultra-limited road car, the Sián.

The V12 Vision Gran Turismo is the latest in a long line of virtual "vision" concepts that come to life in the Gran Turismo video game. Lamborghini took it one step further, building a physical mockup that was presented in Monaco. That car, however, is just a shell.

In the game, the car is supposedly powered by the same super-capacitor-based hybrid V-12 found in the company's latest production car, the Sián FKP 37. That means it's supposed to have 819 horsepower combined.

Lamborghini describes the V12 Vision Gran Turismo as a "highly visionary concept," and it's easy to see why. Like many of the brand's modern designs, the car is delightfully over the top, and utilizes instantly recognizable aspects, like the Y-shaped headlights and taillights, to strengthen the overall composition.

Like a jet fighter, the cockpit is accessed via the front clamshell, that flips up and back, exposing the central seating position. The rectangular steering wheel houses a digital screen in its center, displaying all necessary information for the driver.

As much as we'd like Lamborghini to build a car like this, we have a feeling the V12 Vision Gran Turismo will remain a concept for the foreseeable future. At least it's cool to look at.
