There was no question that after launching the record-holding coupé, Lamborghini would also upgrade the Huracán Spyder with its 640 horsepower drivetrain and active aerodynamics for those who want to hear more of that fantastic naturally-aspirated V10.

The soft-top Performante prototypes have been melting their tires at the 'Ring in recent months, and thanks to Auto Gespot, we don't even have to wonder about its production looks anymore.

Judging by the spy shots, Lamborghini's fastest convertible will be a Huracán Spyder with the Performante aero package, plain and simple. Knowing that the Coupé is 88 lbs. lighter than the regular four-wheel drive Huracan, there's hope that the new Spyder went through a similar diet. If that's the case, it will have every chance to become the fastest convertible around the Nürburgring, thanks to Lambo's clever ALA system.
