Lakeside High after school activities cancelled after gas line struck causing leak

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – Gas crews are currently on the scene of Lakeside High School after a gas line was struck causing a gas leak inside the building.

According to the Lakeside High School Principal, the leak occurred after school had dismissed for the day, but any remaining students and faculty that were still in the building during the time of the gas leak were safely evacuated.

Authorities say no injuries have been reported.

According to school administrators, all after school activities have been cancelled for Tuesday, April 30th in order for crews to work on the leak.

School officials state that they do not anticipate any delay or changes at this time, and school operations will continue as normal on Wednesday.
