Lake Wales is getting a Panera Bread restaurant across U.S. 27 from Eagle Ridge mall. The city has approved site development plans, but an opening date isn't set yet.

Panera Bread is coming to Lake Wales.

The city’s growth management department has approved site development plans for the restaurant on U.S. 27, across from the Eagle Ridge Mall and near the Aldi grocery store. The city has not reported an expected opening date.

It will be the third new restaurant in Lake Wales this year, following the recently opened Slim Chickens and Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. Both of those are the first locations in Polk County.

Panera has two restaurants in Lakeland and one in Winter Haven.
