Lafayette Park pool renovations to close lane on Eastern Avenue: What you need to know

FALL RIVER — Drivers along Eastern Avenue will have to adjust to accommodate construction work taking place near Lafayette Park early this week.

The state Department of Conservation and Recreation has been renovating the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Swimming Pool and Spray Deck.

On Monday and Tuesday, May 13 and 14, this will mean the right lane and sidewalk along Eastern Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. to noon to allow for concrete work.

DCR said the traffic change will be clearly marked and a work crew will be on site.

The splash pad and pool is being upgraded. Last year, it opened for the season in late June.
