Lackawanna County to open splash pad at McDade Park on Saturday

Jul. 6—The latest addition to Lackawanna County's McDade Park will make a splashy debut this weekend.

The county commissioners and the county Parks and Recreation Department will open the new splash pad at McDade with a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The $729,100 state-of-the art pad, with safe, child-friendly aquatic elements, will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through the summer.

The new swimming pool at McDade Park remains under construction and is expected to open later in the season.
