KU football looks to extend its winning streak to three games on Saturday.
The No. 16 Jayhawks (7-2, 4-2 Big 12) haven’t beaten the Red Raiders (4-5. 3-3) since 2019, but they get another chance Saturday.
The Red Raiders (4-5, 3-3) defeated TCU 35-28 last week.
Let’s break down this weekend’s matchup …
Game details

Where: David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium (Lawrence)
TV: FS1
Radio: Jayhawk Radio Network; WHB (810) in Kansas City
Betting line: Kansas is a 3.5-point favorite
Prediction
Texas Tech entered the season as a dark horse for the Big 12 championship. But things haven’t exactly gone the Red Raiders’ way this season.
Still, Texas Tech is a formidable team. KU’s defense will have its hands full against the fast-paced Red Raiders’ offense. The key for Kansas: Force redshirt freshman quarterback Tyler Shough into mistakes.
Luckily for the Jayhawks, their defense does a great job of forcing turnovers. KU is tied for first in the nation in defensive touchdowns (four).
Conversely, Kansas’ offense must take advantage of a Texas Tech defense that’s been struggling against the run. Jayhawks QB Jason Bean needs to play like he did against Iowa State — mistake-free and confident. A confident Bean is a better QB than most QBs in the conference.
I think KU walks out with its first win against the Red Raiders in the Lance Leipold era.
Prediction: Kansas 35, Texas Tech 24
Shreyas’ pick to cover: Kansas (-3.5)
Shreyas’ record: 7-2
Shreyas’ record against the spread: 4-5.
