KU baseball lands two on Preseason All-Big 12 Team

LAWRENCE (KSNT) – The 2024 baseball season is shaping up to be a good one for Kansas in year two under head coach Dan Fitzgerald.

A week after being named the top JUCO recruiting class in the nation, more preseason awards came in.

Infielder Kodey Shojinaga and designated hitter Janson Reeder were both named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team Wednesday.

Shojinaga gets the nod after a freshman All-American season in 2023, along with the Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Year award. He set the freshman school record with a .387 batting average.

Reeder finished the 2023 season as a first-team All-American after leading the team in slugging (.558) and sending out 12 home runs.

KU starts the 2024 season on Feb. 16 against Illinois-Chicago.
