KS Gov orders flags at half-staff in Columbus in honor of CPD Chief Jason Daniels

TOPEKA, Kan. — Governor Laura Kelly directed flags to be flow at half-staff in the City of Columbus later this week in honor of Columbus Police Department Chief Jason Daniels.

From sunup to sundown Friday, May 24, flags are to be flown at half-staff in the city in memory of Chief Daniels, who passed away earlier this month. He was 49, and served with the department for over 20 years.

“Chief Daniels served the people of Columbus honorably for more than two decades,” Governor Laura Kelly said. 

“We owe him a debt of gratitude for his contributions to his community. My sincere condolences go out to Chief Daniels’ wife, children, and loved ones during this difficult time.”
