[1] Child found wandering Albuquerque apartment complex with soiled clothes, no shoes – An Albuquerque woman is facing charges after her child was found wandering around an apartment complex alone. APD says officers responded to an apartment complex near Montgomery and San Pedro after getting reports that a child was wandering around alone. Officers say the boy was covered in dirt, had soiled pants and told officers he wasn’t sure when his last meal was. Police tracked down the boys mother, Paula Martin, hours later. Martin is charged with child abuse.

[2] Organizations to speak out against city council proposal – Organizations are asking city councilors to reconsider a proposal that would change Albuquerque’s immigrant friendly policy. At a meeting last week, councilors Brooke Bassan and Renee Grout introduced an amendment that would allow the city to assist or enforce federal immigration laws if someone who is an illegal immigrant, commit a violent crime such as murder or felony drug charges. Advocates are speaking out to highlight the positive impact of the immigrant friendly policies and ask city council to consider how the amendment could impact residents public safety.

[3] New Mexico sees more mountain storms – We will see mostly sunny skies until early afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will develop in the northern, central and western mountains this afternoon. The Metro will stay dry and mostly sunny all day. There will be more mountain storms on Tuesday, with a higher chance in the Metro Tuesday afternoon and evening.

[4] New roundabout in Westside neighborhood might help curb crashes – The Tierra Oeste Neighborhood by Unser and Ladera on Tierra Pintada and Mirehaven Parkway is getting some upgrades. The upgrades include a new roundabout and more lighting. The city said they’re hoping the roundabout will help reduce speeding and reckless driving. The project will add 12 overhead lights, landscaping and include bike lane improvements. Construction will begin Tuesday and go through December.

[5] New Mexicans snap pictures of aurora borealis – New Mexicans got the chance to enjoy the sight of a lifetime over the weekend as geomagnetic storms continue impacting the globe. The Northern Lights made their visit to New Mexico, but experts say the storms that caused it are beginning to calm. Meaning the aurora is now returning northward before disappearing.
